The Lead: The Crusaders finished eighth overall at the 2016 Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field in Lewisburg, Pa.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Junior Michael Andre (Feeding Hills, Mass.) placed ninth overall in the 1500 m run, recording a time of 3:57.70.
• Freshman Brandon Thornhill (Natick, Mass.) placed seventh in the 110 m hurdle finals with a time of 14.81, which qualifies him for the IC4A Championship.
• Sophomore Nicholas Boire (Manchester, N.H.) placed 17th in the 400 m dash with a time of 50.55.
• In the 800 m run, senior Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.) placed fourth overall with a time of 1:51.25, qualifying him for the IC4A Championship.
• Sophomore James Donohue (Bronxville, N.Y.) placed 11th in the 400 m hurdles with a time of 57.20.
• In the 4x400 m relay, the team of Thornhill, Boire, Andre and junior Benjamin Ghiano (Iselin, N.J.) finished seventh overall, recording a time of 3:23.50.
• Sophomore Phil Zobrest (Alden, N.Y.) placed eighth in the discus throw, notching a distance of 42.60 m.
• Junior Andre Harton (Alpharetta, Ga.) placed 11th in the high jump with a mark of 1.82 m.

THE TURNPIKE TROPHY:

• The Patriot League Championpship marked the first men's outdoor track and field meeting between Holy Cross and Boston University the inaugural Turnpike Trophy competition. Click here for the schedule and results of the Turnpike Trophy.
• The Terriers earned the point by placing in front of the Crusaders in the final standings.
• This athletic series between the in-state Patriot League rivals awards points for all head-to-head victories in both the regular season and postseason, with the Turnpike Trophy going to the school which accumulates the most points at the end of the academic year.
• The next Turnpike Trophy match-up will come on May 13, when the women's rowing championship takes place on Lake Quinsigamond.
