The Lead: The Crusaders completed their first day of competition at the 2016 Patriot League Outdoor Championship in Lewisburg, Pa.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Freshman Alexander Escada (East Greenbush, N.Y.) is currently in fifth place in the men's decathlon with 2881 points following the first five events.
• In the 110 m hurdle prelims, freshman Brandon Thornhill (Natick, Mass.) placed sixth overall with a time of 15.15 to qualify for the next round.
• Senior Joe Murphy (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) placed 19th in the 10k race with a time of 33:00.18.
• In the 100 m dash, junior Darius Lacy (St. Petersburg, Fla.) placed 18th in a time of 11.26.
• The squad of senior Matt Luizzi (Albany, N.Y.), senior Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.), junior Michael Andre (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and senior Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.) placed fifth overall in the 4x800 m relay.
• In the 200 m dash prelims, junior Andre Harton (Alpharetta, Ga.) finished 20th overall with a time of 23.04.
• Freshman Myles Connor (Peabody, Mass.) placed 11th in the javelin throw, recording a distance of 51.29.
• Lacy placed 17th overall in the long jump, registering a distance of 5.84 m.
• Senior Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) placed seventh in the pole vault with a height of 4.7 m.
