Men?s Track and Field Falls To Maine, 96-73

  • The Lead: The Crusaders suffered a 96-73 setback in a dual meet with Maine on Saturday in Orono.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Senior Kalif Raymond (Lawrenceville, Ga.) placed first overall in the 60 m dash with a time of 7.00, while senior Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) came in second at 7.29 and junior Darrius Lacy (St. Petersburg, Fla.) placed third at 7.42.
  • Raymond also earned the top finish in the 200 m dash, crossing the finish line at 22.95.
  • In the 400 m dash, sophomore James Donohue (Bronxville, N.Y.) finished second overall in a time of 52.53, as junior Michael Andre (Feeding Hill, Mass.) came in fourth at 54.11.
  • Senior Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.) won the 500 m run with a time of 1:06.35.
  • In the 800 m run, senior Matt Luizzi (Albany, N.Y.) placed second at 2:00.79, and sophomore Thomas Kalantzakos (Andover, Mass.) came in fourth at 2:03.42.
  • Sophomore Bryan Gallagher (Littleton, Mass.) placed second overall in the 1000 m run with a time of 2:37.06, as freshman Joseph Prunty (New York, N.Y.) came in third at 2:37.67.
  • In the one mile run, junior Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.) was the top finisher for Holy Cross, coming in second at 4:18.79.
  • Freshman Brandon Thornhill (Natick, Mass.) placed second overall in the 60 m hurdles with a time of 8.77, as junior William Raven (Newburyport, Mass.) came in fourth at 8.97.
  • Senior Tim Dunn (Fords, N.J.) won the pole vault with a height of 4.73 m, as junior Michael Araujo (Southbridge, Mass.) placed second at 4.00 m and freshman Christopher Puntasecca (Wayne, N.J.) placed third at 3.80 m.
  • In the long jump, freshman Andrew Delzotto (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) placed third with a mark of 5.65 m, while sophomore Tyson Youngs (San Diego, Calif.) earned a mark of 5.47 m to place fourth.
  • Freshman Tom Chiappini (Reading, Mass.) came in third in the shot put, earning a mark of 12.75 m, as senior Mike Galantini (Jessup, Pa.) placed fourth at 12.55 m.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Dunn's mark of 4.73 m in the pole vault is a new Holy Cross record.
