The Lead: Lauren Descalzo scored four goals for the Bulldogs as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team fell to Bryant, 8-7, at Holy Cross Field on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Kaitlin Concilio (Ridgewood, N.J.) posted two assists and recorded her 100th career point for the Crusaders.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Crusaders opened the scoring at 27:05 of the first half as Concilio sent a pass to senior Margie Smith (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) who found the back of the net to give the Crusaders the 1-0 lead.
- Senior MacKenzie Bozel (Hunt Valley, Md.) extended the Crusader lead to 2-0 with 20:36 left in the half.
- Bryant made it 2-1 with 19:48 left in the first half on a shot from two yards out by Lauren Britton.
- With 16:57 remaining in the first half, the Crusaders made it 3-1 on a goal from junior Tess MacKay (Simsbury, Conn.) off a pass from Bozel.
- With 15:14 remaining in the first half, Bryant made it 3-2 on a goal by Descalzo.
- With 14:17 remaining in the half, sophomore Stephanie Ford (Summit, N.J.) ripped a shot on goal from two yards out which found the back of the net to make it 4-2 Crusaders.
- The Crusaders extended their lead to 5-2 with 11:56 remaining in the first half as freshman Alexis Leighton (Garden City, N.J.) tallied a wraparound goal.
- Bryant made it 5-3 as Lauren Britton found the back of the net with 10:30 remaining in the half.
- With 7:34 remaining in the half the Bulldogs cut the Crusader lead to 5-4 as Descalzo tallied her second goal of the contest.
- Bryant tied the game at 5-5 with 5:34 remaining in the half on a Meaghan Brennan goal.
- Less than a minute into the second half, Bryant took a 6-5 lead as Nicole Britton scored from two yards out.
- With 28:05 remaining in the second half, freshman Keely Connors (Bedford, N.Y.) drove towards the net and made it 6-6 on a shot from three yards out.
- With 21:38 remaining in the second half Bryant took a 7-6 lead as Descalzo tallied her third goal of the contest.
- With 14:31 remaining in the game, Bryant tallied a man-up goal and made it 8-6 on Descalzo's fourth goal of the game.
- With 2:40 remaining in the game, Concilio sent a pass to MacKay who tallied a man-up goal from two yards out to cut the Bryant lead to 8-7. The assist gave Concilio her 100th career point.
- With two seconds remaining in the contest, the Crusaders almost tied the game, but a shot went over the net as Bryant tallied the 8-7 victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Bryant outshot Holy Cross, 29-27.
- Sophomore goalie Julia Maloney (Loudonville, N.Y.) made 13 saves and tallied a .619 save percentage, while Samantha Santeramo tallied five saves and Daja Andrews recorded five in the second half to post the victory.
- The Crusaders' secured nine draw controls while the Bulldogs had eight.
- The Crusaders' tallied 19 ground balls to Bryant's 15.
- The Bulldogs went 2-4 on free-posititon shots, while the Crusaders went 0-3.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Concilio recorded two assists and tallied her 100th career point for the Crusaders. She is the 21st Crusader to reach this milestone. Concilio has 47 goals and 53 assists.
- Concilio has at least one point in 10 straight games.
- Ford's goal was the first of her collegiate career.
- Maloney recorded a career high 13 saves.
