HOW IT HAPPENED

• American took control of the game in the first half, registering 11 shots on goal.
• Natalie Konerth scored the lone goal of the game in the 30th minute, putting the Eagles up 1-0 off a penalty corner.
• The Crusaders responded with an offensive push early on in the second half, registering four shots with three chances on net.
• LaPlante made a pair of back-to-back diving saves with five minutes remaining in regulation to keep the score 1-0.
• Holy Cross earned three penalty corners in the second half, but was unable to find a tying goal.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• LaPlante made 17 saves in the loss for the Crusaders.
• Maura Jacobs stopped three shots to earn the win for American.
• Junior forward Maureen Connolly led the Crusaders with three shots on goal.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• This was the first appearance for the Crusaders in the Patriot League Tournament since 2006.
