INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Freshman forward Lauren Manis earned a double-double with a team-high 12 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Junior guard Infiniti Thomas-Waheed also registered a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.
  • Also scoring in double figures for Holy Cross was junior forward Amy Hasenauer, who totaled 10 points with six rebounds.
  • Rebekah Hand earned a double-double for Marist, notching a game-high 20 points with 11 rebounds.

POSTGAME PRESS CONFERENCE

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Marist took control of the game early on, putting together a 10-0 scoring run after Holy Cross scored the first basket of the game.
  • The Crusaders pulled within three points, but trailed the Red Foxes 12-7 at the end of the first quarter.
  • After Marist jumped out to a 17-9 lead early in the second, Holy Cross put together a 9-0 run to take a one point lead.
  • Both teams kept it close until the end of the half, when the score would be tied 24-24 as each squad headed to the locker room.
  • Holy Cross held a narrow lead for the first seven minutes of the third quarter, until Marist pulled ahead and took a 35-33 lead into the fourth.
  • Neither team gave an inch in the fourth quarter, with the score tying five times and the lead changing another five times.
  • The Crusaders regained the lead with 3:06 remaining and held a narrow advantage until the final buzzer.
  • Marist nearly tied it with a three point attempt with four seconds remaining, but junior guard Tricia Byrne came up with a defensive rebound on the miss and scored a free throw point to seal the final score.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Thomas-Waheed earned her first double-double of the season, and the second of her career.
  • Manis earned her third double-double in four games this season.
  • Thomas-Waheed's 14 rebounds are a new career-high.
  • Hasenauer's 10 points set a new career-high.
  • The Crusaders are now 7-0 all-time against Marist.
