• The Lead: Holy Cross took a 2-0 loss to Temple in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia, Pa.

 HOW IT HAPPENED

• Following a scoreless first half in which the Owls outshot the Crusaders, 6-3, Katie Foran broke the tie for Temple in the 43rd minute of play to give them a 1-0 lead.
• The Owls followed up with another score in the 60th minute, as Rachael Mueller extended their lead to 2-0.
• Holy Cross had a stronger second half on the offensive side of the ball, registering nine shots and earning a pair of penalty corners, but the Crusaders were unable to cut the deficit set by Temple.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Freshman goalkeeper Marcia LaPlante made six saves for Holy Cross.
• Maddie Lilliock made three saves for Temple.
• Shots attempted were 19-12 in favor of the Owls.
• Junior forward Maureen Connolly led the Crusaders with five shots attempted, including three on net.
