• The Lead: Sophomore midfielder Emily Loprete scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Crusaders to a 2-1 victory over Quinnipiac on Tuesday night in Worcester.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Quinnipiac got the scoring started in the 17th minute of action, as Dayna Barlow found the back of the net to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead.
• Shots in the first period were even at four each, while Quinnipiac led in penalty corners 2-0.
• The Crusaders tied the game in the 56th minute, as senior midfielder Audra Kinney scored off a pass from junior forward Maureen Connolly to make it a 1-1 game.
• Holy Cross earned three penalty corner opportunities in the second half, but the Crusaders were unable to find a game-winner before heading to overtime.
• Just under five minutes into overtime, Loprete found the back of the net with a rocket shot off an assist from sophomore midfielder Lauren Ineson to end the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Freshman goalkeeper Marcia LaPlante stopped five shots for Holy Cross in the win.
• Hannah Teicher made four saves for Quinnipiac.
• Shots attempted were 11-8 Holy Cross.
• Connolly led the Crusaders with four shot attempts, including three on net.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• The Crusaders now have four wins in overtime this season, the most for the program since 1998.
• Kinney's goal was her first of the season, and second of her career.
• Loprete's goal was sixth on the season, and her second game-winner. She now has 16 goals in her career.
• LaPlante improves to 7-3 on the year.
