THE BASICS:

The Lead: Marisa Romeo scored four goals and posted one assist for five points, while Audrey Todd scored three goals for the Crimson as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team fell to Harvard, 12-4, at Soldiers Field Stadium on Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Harvard scored the first eight goals of the game. Three goals were scored by Todd, one by Eliza Guild and four by Romeo. The score was 8-0 with 12:13 left in the first half.
- Junior Kaitlin Concilio (Ridgewood, N.J.) scored the first goal for the Crusaders making the score 8-1. Julia Glynn and Caroline Ashford scored the next two goals for the Crimson making the score 10-1 at the half.
- Sophomore Avery Giorgio (Madison, Conn.) scored the first goal of the second half and Nekele McCall answered back with a goal off a pass from Glynn. With 25:24 left in regulation, the score was 11-2.
- Glynn scored the 12th goal for the Crimson, placing the game into running time at 21:46.
- The Crusaders then scored two goals in a row, taking away the running clock. One goal was by Giorgio with an assist from Concilio and one by senior captain Laura Ryan (Stirling, N.J.) off a free-position, making the score 12-4 with 12:07 left in regulation.
- The game ended with a score of 12-4, Harvard.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Junior goalie Katie Boyle (Devon, Pa.) made five saves, while Harvard goalies Kelly Weis and Olivia Gundrum had two and one saves, respectively.
- Holy Cross went 3-4 on free positions and Harvard went 3-6.
- Holy Cross tallied 15 groundballs while Harvard picked up 14 and both teams had nine draw controls.
- Sophomores Elizabeth Furman (Garden City, N.Y.) and Anna Johnson (Summit, NJ.) led the team with three ground balls.
- Junior captain Casey Drollinger (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) led the team with three caused turnovers and Ryan led the team with four draw controls.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Ryan has scored at least one goal in 23 straight games.
- With her one assist today, Concilio now has 18 assists this season, which are tied for 10th in program history. Her 47 career assists are now fourth all-time.
