The Lead: Covie Stanwick led the Eagles with three goals and two assists as the Holy Cross women's lacrosse team fell to No. 3 Boston College, 17-6, on Tuesday afternoon at Holy Cross Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Boston College took an early 2-0 lead on goals by Sarah Mannelly and Caroline Margolis.
  • Holy Cross cut the lead in half with a goal by senior captain Laura Ryan (Stirling, N.J.) with the assist by senior captain Lissie Russert (Cincinnati, Ohio).
  • The Eagles then scored four consecutive goals to take the 6-1 lead.
  • The Crusaders answered with back-to-back goals by freshman Maddie Warwick (Hingham, Mass.) and sophomore Mary Patalita (Alexandria, Va.) to cut the lead to 6-3 with 8:02 left in the first half. Ryan assisted on Warwick's goal.
  • Before the conclusion of the first half, Boston College scored four more goals for a 10-3 lead.
  • Boston College opened up the second half with a goal by Mikaela Rix, but Holy Cross retaliated with two consecutive goals by Ryan and junior Kaitlin Concilio (Ridgewood, N.J.) in less than a minute.
  • The Eagles went on to score five more goals to put Boston College up 16-5.
  • Sophomore Tess MacKay (Simsbury, Conn.) found the back of the net with 3:35 remaining, assisted by sophomore Maddie Ward (Norwell, Mass.).
  • Laura Frankenfield scored for the Eagles with 10 seconds remaining to finalize the score at 17-6.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • The Eagles outshot the Crusaders 35-19.
  • Junior Katie Boyle (Devon, Pa.) posted six saves for the Crusaders, while Zoe Ochoa had eight saves for the Eagles to earn the victory.
  • Boston College recorded 16 draw controls to Holy Cross' nine.
  • The Eagles picked up 16 ground balls and the Crusaders secured 14.
  • Boston College went 1-3 on free-position shots, while the Crusaders went 0-1.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
  • Warwick scored her first career goal for the Crusaders.
  • The Eagles are the highest ranked team the Crusaders have ever played at home. Boston College is also the highest ranked Division I team to play on campus since the No. 2 Duke women's basketball team played the Crusaders at the Hart Center on Jan. 16, 2006.
