The Lead: The Holy Cross men's track and field team opened up full team action on Saturday at the 2015 Patriot League Indoor Championship as freshman Josh Nickerson (Danvers, Mass.) finished the final three events of the two-day heptathlon to take sixth overall with a new Holy Cross school record score of 4,196. Nickerson's top finish came in the high jump where he tied for second with a height of 1.85 meters.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the 35 lb. weight throw, senior co-captain Sean Carey (Newburyport, Mass.) finished 11th with a distance of 15.75 meters as senior Lucius White (Andover, Mass.) placed 14th and threw a distance of 14.43 meters. 
• Senior Vuong Tran (Worcester, Mass.) represented the Crusaders in the 60 meter dash preliminary heat as he crossed the finish line in a semi-final qualifying time of 7.22 seconds. In the semi-final heat, Tran placed 12th with a time of 7.17 seconds. 
• In the 5,000 meter run, sophomore Matt Greco (Eagleville, Pa.) crossed the finish line in 16th at 15:24.28. 
• Sophomore William Raven (Newburyport, Mass.) competed in the 60 meter hurdles preliminary round and finished with a time of 8.98 and 13th place finish. 
• The 4 x 800 meter relay team comprised of junior Francisco Tejidor (Coral Gables, Fla.), senior co-captain Trevor Dutton (Burlington, Mass.), sophomore Michael Andre (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and junior Lucas Keefer (Yonkers, N.Y.) finished fourth with a Wesley A. Brown Field House record time of 7:34.11.
