The Lead: The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team completed the first full day of competition on Thursday at the 2015 Patriot League Championship after opening the four-day event on Wednesday afternoon. The 200-medley relay team opened competition yesterday for Holy Cross, setting a new school record in the event with a time of 1:35.31. The team comprised of senior captains Thomas Horigan (West Hartford, Conn.) and Jack Swain (West Hartford, Conn.), junior Tyler Wright (Waterboro, Maine) and freshman Jake Sbarbaro (Lakewood, Colo.) as Wright went on to break an individual record of his own in the 200 IM. 

• 15 Crusaders took to the pool this morning in the preliminary heats in three separate events including the 50 and 500 freestyle along with the 200 IM.
• In a timed trial of the 200-backstroke, Wright broke the school record, set in 2012 by graduate Jan Yburan, with a time of 1:56.11.
• Junior David Mullany (Monroe, Conn.) led the way for Holy Cross in the 500-freestyle with a time of 4:47.86.
• Sbarbaro led the Crusaders with a time of 1:58.35 in the 200 IM as Horigan touched the wall first for Holy Cross in the 50-freestyle at 22.23 seconds.
• In the night portion, the 200-freestyle relay team comprised of Horigan, senior Andrew Olivieri (Newark, Del.), sophomore Alex Young (Natick, Mass.) and freshman Geneth Chin (South Winston, Conn.) finished in 10th with a time of 1:28.69

• The Crusaders will continue action at the 2015 Patriot League Championship tomorrow, Feb. 20 at 10:30 a.m.
