ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Senior
Jack Greiner recorded a third-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley, as the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving squad competed in day three of the Patriot League Championship at Lejeune Hall. Through 14 events, the Crusaders stand in seventh place as a team with 327 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Greiner took third place in the 400-yard individual medley in 3:48.77, after smashing the school record with the fastest time during the preliminaries (3:48.65).
• The 200-yard freestyle relay team of junior
Will Clark, junior
Jake Thompson, sophomore
Peter Mottolese and freshman
Andrew Villani placed eighth in a school-record time of 1:21.27.
• Clark's leadoff split of 20.67 on that relay set a new school record in the 50-yard freestyle.
• Villani placed 18th in the 100-yard butterfly in a school-record time of 49.10.
• Junior
Luke Parada finished ninth in the one-meter diving (287.20).
• Senior
Zach Bubonovich came in 10th in the 100-yard breaststroke (54.29).
• Freshman
Ethan Steichen finished 20th in the 100-yard backstroke (50.07).
• Mottolese claimed 22nd place in the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.46).
• Thompson came in 23rd in the 100-yard backstroke (50.77).
• Sophomore
Colin McGee was 24th in the 100-yard breaststroke (57.33).
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will conclude competition in the Patriot League Championship on Saturday, Feb. 21.
