Sophomore outside hitter Emma Sorensen of the Holy Cross volleyball team has been selected as the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for competition from August 24-30.

Sorensen started all three matches for the Crusaders at outside hitter leading the Patriot League in total points (56.0), ranking second in the conference in points per set (4.00), second in kills (48), and third in kills per set (3.43) following the opening weekend of the 2026 season. She recorded double-digit kills and digs in all three matches finishing second on the team with 37 digs and ranking third in digs per set (2.64).

The sophomore started off 2026 with a team-high 16 kills and 11 dig showing in a five-set duel with Central Connecticut State on August 28. During the 3-1 win against Siena (August 29), Sorensen tallied 14 kills and 12 digs with a pair of aces. In the five-setter versus Rhode Island, Sorensen posted a match-high 18 kills with a squad-best 14 digs and three aces going a perfect 35-for-35 on reception attempts in the receive game.

Holy Cross (1-2) looks to get back into the win column on Tuesday, Sept. 1 when they head to New Haven (1-2) for a 6 p.m. first serve.
