Senior forward Lauren Manis of the Holy Cross women’s basketball team has been named the ckSmithSuperior Crusader of the Week for competition from Nov. 25 to Dec 1. Manis helped lead the Crusaders to an 83-71 victory over Brown in the team’s only contest of the week on Sunday.
Manis recorded 26 points on 10-of-15 shooting, the most points by a Holy Cross player in a single game this season. With 12 rebounds, Manis also had her third double-double of the season, and she moves into second place in program history with 41 career double-doubles. The performance also helped move her into ninth place in program history with 1,555 career points.
Through five games, Manis is averaging a double-double with a team-leading 18.3 points and 13.0 rebounds per game. She leads the nation in defensive rebounds per game at 10.2, and ranks second in total rebounds per game.
The women’s basketball team has won four straight games and will next be in action on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the University of Rhode Island.
