Holy Cross Athletics

Junior outfielder Gianni Royer of the Holy Cross baseball team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for competition from March 16-22.
 
Royer helped lead Holy Cross to their eighth straight series win against Patriot League opponents. The center fielder slashed .500/.500/.883 for a 1.383 OPS in a series sweep at Lehigh (March 21-22) from the No. 3 hole. He went 6-for-12 (.500) with a home run, a double, a team-best three RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base in the three game set.

Royer helped the Crusaders complete the series sweep, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, a sacrifice fly, and a run scored at Lehigh (March 22). The junior Has nine multi-hit efforts in 2026 and leads the Patriot League in hits (29) and doubles (7), while ranking fifth in batting average (.315), tied for sixth in RBI (14), and tied for eighth in home runs. 

Holy Cross (9-13, 5-1 PL) has won three straight games and five of its last seven contests. They host Harvard (2-14, 1-2 PL) for the 2026 home opener on Wednesday, March 25 at 4:30 p.m.
