Sophomore Evan Jones of the Holy Cross men’s soccer team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for September 5-September 11.

Jones started and played in both games for the Crusaders this past week leading his team to a 2-0 record. The forward scored his first career hat trick as the Crusaders defeated UMass Lowell 5-4 last Tuesday night.

Jones' hat trick was the first by a Crusader since Sept. 21, 2013, when Joey DeVivo scored three times in a 4-1 win over Bryant. He is tied atop the Patriot League leader board in goals scored (3) and is tied for third in points (6).

The Crusaders (2-3) are set to duel Hartford (0-5) Tuesday in a non-conference contest at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14.
