WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Charlotte Sonntag has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from February 23-March 1. Sonntag helped lead the Holy Cross women’s lacrosse team to a 5-4 victory over New Hampshire in the quarterfinals of the Hockey East Tournament on Saturday.

During the win over the Wildcats, Sonntag scored a team-high two goals for the Crusaders. Her first goal came 3:29 into the second period, to tie the game at 1-1. Sonntag’s second goal came 4:47 into the third period and gave Holy Cross a 4-2 lead, as the Crusaders went on to advance to the Hockey East semifinals for the first time in program history.

On the season, Sonntag ranks sixth on the team in scoring with 18 points on 11 goals and seven assists. Over the course of her collegiate career, she has totaled 21 goals and 18 assists for 39 points in 134 games played.

Holy Cross (19-12-3 overall, 10-11-3 Hockey East) returns to action on Tuesday, March 3, when it travels to No. 6 Connecticut for the Hockey East Tournament semifinals. Opening face-off is set for 6 p.m.
