WORCESTER, Mass. – Sophomore goalkeeper Mateo Buyu has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from August 18-24. Buyu made eight saves while allowing just two goals for the Holy Cross men’s soccer team in a pair of games last week. 

During Thursday’s 1-1 tie at Northeastern in the season opener, Buyu tallied three saves. He then recorded a career-best five saves during Sunday’s 1-0 setback at Merrimack.

On the season, Buyu owns a 1.00 goals against average and an .800 save percentage.

Holy Cross (0-1-1 overall) returns to action on Friday, Aug. 29, when it travels to Brown for a 7 p.m. game.
