Senior Charlie Nascimben of the Holy Cross men’s swimming and diving team has been selected as the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for Oct. 16-Oct. 22.

Nascimben helped lead the Crusaders to their second straight Worcester City Championship. He earned the Justin Ferris Award given to the Male Swimmer of the Meet. Nascimben smashed two Worcester City Championship individual records in the 200-yard medley (1:54.54) and the 100-yard freestyle (46.86). The 100-yard freestyle was last set in 2004 by Holy Cross' Scott Rimm (47.07).

Nascimben was also part of three relay teams that set meet records in the 400-yard medley relay (3:32.27), the 200-yard medley relay (1:36.78) and the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:11.02).

The team captain finished in first place in all seven of his events that he competed in on Saturday.

The Crusaders will be back at home in the Hart Center Pool on Friday, Oct. 27 when they take on Binghamton in a dual meet starting at 5 p.m.
