Freshman Patrick Walsh of the Holy Cross men’s swimming and diving team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for Feb. 14. Feb 20.

Walsh established three new individual program records at the 2022 Patriot League Championships this past week. He smashed a 20-year program mark in the 500-yard freestyle by seven seconds (4:31.16). On Saturday, Walsh then broke two of his own marks the first in the 1,000-yard freestyle at 9:33.03. He also participated in the 1,650-yard freestyle and had a top-10 finish placing ninth out of 23 competitors with a new program-best, 15:46.40 mark. 

Walsh was also a key cog in the 400 medley relay (3:07.74), and the 800-yard freestyle relay (6:51.04) teams that also recorded program best times.

Holy Cross finished the 2021-22 season with a 2-5, 1-2 PL mark in head-to-head competition.
