WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior forward Gerrale Gates has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for competition from Dec. 26-Jan. 1. Gates led the Holy Cross men's basketball team to a 60-58 victory over Bucknell in its only game last week.

During Friday's game against the Bison, Gates scored 23 points and tied his career high by pulling down 14 rebounds. He made 11 of 17 field goal attempts on the afternoon, while posting his fifth double-double of the year.  

On the season, Gates is averaging 17.5 points, 8.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocked shots per game, in addition to connecting on 50.5 percent of his field goal attempts. Over the course of his career with the Crusaders, he has now totaled 912 points, 462 rebounds, 115 assists and 56 steals.

Holy Cross (4-10 overall, 1-0 Patriot League) returns to action on Monday, Jan. 2, when it travels to Navy for a 1:00 p.m. game.
