Senior wide receiver Tenio Ayeni has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for the week of Sept. 20 to 26.

Ayeni recorded two touchdowns and had a career-best 107 receiving yards as the Crusaders defeated No. 20 Monmouth, 45-15, in a blowout victory on Sept. 25.

His first touchdown came off an eight-yard pass from Matthew Sluka with 3:00 left in the opening quarter to give Holy Cross a 14-0 lead. He helped extend the Holy Cross lead to 21-0 early in the second quarter, after receiving a pass from Marco Siderman and breaking away for a 71-yard touchdown with 11:55 remaining. Ayeni had his first multi-touchdown game since he also scored two touchdowns against Monmouth on Oct. 7, 2017.

This season, Ayeni leads the Crusaders with 177 receiving yards on the season.

Ayeni and the No. 24 Crusaders (3-1) return to action on Saturday, Oct. 2 with a Homecoming matchup against Harvard. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at Fitton Field.
