WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross field hockey freshman Marianna MacLean was named Patriot League Midfielder and Rookie of the Week, as voted on by the Patriot League coaches and announced by the league offices Monday afternoon.

MacLean had a hand in all six of the Crusaders' goals this past weekend, recording her first two career goals and tacking on four assists.

On Friday against Northeastern, MacLean assisted on Holy Cross' first two goals before netting the eventual game-winning goal to clinch the Crusaders' first program win over the Huskies in program history. On Sunday, MacLean assisted on the first and third goals of the game, scoring the second of the game.

MacLean's five assists leads the Patriot League, while her nine points ranks fourth.
 
Holy Cross (3-1) will return home to the Hart Turf Field on Friday, Sept. 11 when they welcome Stanford at 6 p.m.
