The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team will begin the 2026-2027 campaign when it plays host to Delaware on Sept. 25 and 26. The Crusaders and the Blue Hens will face off at 6 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday, with both games being shown live on ESPN+.

Holy Cross is entering its eighth year under head coach Katie Lachapelle, and is coming a 2025-2026 season in which it went 19-13-3 overall and placed fourth in Hockey East with 37 points (10-11-3 record). The Crusaders return seven of the top 10 scorers off that squad, led by sophomore forward Violet Carroll who totaled a team-high 26 points on 10 goals and 16 assists. She is joined by sophomore forward Naemi Herzig (seven goals, 15 assists, 22 points), senior forward Emily Crovo (five goals, 14 assists, 19 points), senior forward Lulu Rourke (seven goals, nine assists, 16 points) and senior forward Reghan Chadwick (seven goals, six assists, 13 points).

Delaware is coming off a 2026-2027 campaign in which it went 2-31-0 overall, while placing seventh in Atlantic Hockey at 1-23-0. Sophomore forward Francesca Barresi tallied 12 points on five goals and seven assists a year ago, while sophomore forward Katelynn Charlton added five goals and five assists for 10 points. Sophomore goaltender Charlotte Payne is also back, after going 2-17-0 with a 3.80 goals against average and an .802 save percentage.

After the series with Delaware, Holy Cross will remain to home to face Assumption on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m.
