WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team has been picked to finish in fourth place in the 2026-2027 Hockey East preseason poll, in voting by the conference's head coaches.
Holy Cross received 60 total points, while posting its highest-ever ranking in the preseason poll. Northeastern placed first in the poll with 89 total points and eight first-place votes, followed by Connecticut in second with 83 points and two first-place votes. Boston College was picked third with 64 points, while Boston University tied with the Crusaders for fourth (60 points). The preseason rankings were rounded out by Vermont (sixth, 54 points), New Hampshire (seventh, 42 points), Maine (eighth, 33 points), Providence (ninth, 31 points) and Merrimack (10th, 24 points).
Last year, Holy Cross advanced to the Hockey East semifinals for the first time in program history, while posting an overall record of 19-13-3 and a 10-11-3 mark in Hockey East play. The Crusaders broke school records for the most Hockey East victories (10) and Hockey East points (37) in a single season, while their 19 overall wins tied for the fifth-most in program history.
Holy Cross is scheduled to open up the 2026-2027 campaign when it plays host to Delaware on Friday, Sept. 25, at 6 p.m.
