WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross field hockey junior Mia McCloskey was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week while freshman Marianna MacLean was named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as voted on by the Patriot League coaches and announced by the league offices Monday afternoon.

McCloskey recorded 15 saves as the Crusaders' went 1-1 in their two games this weekend. In Friday's matchup against ACC foe Stanford, McCloskey stopped six shots - including a penalty stroke attempt in the third quarter that kept the score at 1-0. In Sunday's 3-1 win over Bryant, McCloskey recorded nine saves - her top mark of the season - to backstop the Crusaders to a 3-2 record heading into Patriot League play.

MacLean was named Rookie of the Week for the second-straight week after recording her first collegiate hat trick in Sunday's win over Bryant, netting all three of the Crusaders' goals in the matchup. With her six points this weekend, MacLean now leads the Patriot League in points (15), is third in assists (5) and fourth in goals (5).
 
Holy Cross (4-2) will hit the road this weekend to open their Patriot League schedule when they head to Bethlehem, Pa. to face Lehigh at 11 a.m. on Sat. Sept. 19.
