WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross men's lacrosse freshman Shane McDonnell earned Patriot League Faceoff Specialist of the Week honors, as announced by the league on Monday.

McDonnell recorded 15 faceoff wins and nine ground ball pickups in the Crusaders' matchup at Bucknell this weekend. His 15 wins at the 'X' marked his ninth game this season with double-digit wins, and his nine ground balls tied for his season-high. McDonnell's goal in the second quarter marked his third-straight game with a goal.

His .594 win percentage at the 'X' this season ties him for first in the Patriot League and tied for 17th in the nation. His 5.00 ground balls per game ranks sixth in the league.

McDonnell and the Crusaders (6-7, 2-5 PL) return to Kuzniewski Field to face Boston University for their final game of the regular season on Friday, April 24 at 6 p.m.
