WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to Boston University, 18-12, Friday night at Kuzniewski Field.
Holy Cross finishes the season with a 6-8 (2-6 PL) record, while Boston University enters the playoffs at 8-5 (6-2 PL).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Terriers got off to a strong start, outscoring the Crusaders, 7-2. Sophomore Owen Tunney and junior Jon-Luke Duley accounted for the two Crusader goals.
- The game evened out in the second quarter with Boston University holding the slight edge in the frame, 3-2. Junior Bo Webster and Tunney scored the two goals for Holy Cross.
- Boston University opened the second half with two goals, but a quick response by senior Damien Ramondo and Webster kept the Terrier to six.
- Boston University responded with a man up goal, but goals by Tunney and Webster in the final minute of the frame cut the lead to five going into the final quarter of regulation.
- Junior Ryan Botek opened the final frame with a goal before Boston University netted five to extend the lead to 18-10.
- Senior Tyler Marmo, Webster, and Botek netted goals over the final 2:48 to bring the score to its final of 18-13.
BEYOND THE BOX:
- Senior JR Long recorded 13 saves over his 56 minutes of work before senior Sean Miller took over in relief.
- Freshman Shane McDonnell led the Crusaders at the faceoff 'X' with ten wins. His nine ground balls led both sides.
- Nine different Crusaders recorded a caused turnover in the contest.
Holy Cross concludes its 2026 campaign with a 6-8 record, marking its most wins in a season since 2019.
