Men's track and field competes at IC4A Championship, River Hawk Invite

The Holy Cross men's track and field team competed on the first day of the IC4A Indoor Championship and also attended the River Hawk Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 7.

IC4A CHAMPIONSHIP DAY 1 HIGHLIGHTS:

Junior Tristan Miller had the 11th-best time of the day in the 400 meters, clocking in at 48.65. His classmate, Logan Mott, finished in 22nd in a time of 49.71.
Sophomore Iain DeBoth placed 21st in the 200 meters in a time of 22.03.

RIVER HAWK INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:

Rookie Jake Baker won the open shot put, with a personal record mark of 14.40m. He was also ninth in the weight throw (16.97m). Freshman Padraig DeMarr placed fourth in the weight throw (13.95m), followed closely by sophomore Josh Dymond (fifth, 13.82m).
Freshman Nic Oglesby had a strong day, placing second in the open long jump with a leap of 6.66m. He also cleared 1.95 meters to place fifth in the high jump — both personal bests.
Freshman Matt Shaw placed fifth in the open 400 meters, with a time of 50.95.
Junior Thomas Speltz placed seventh in the 1,000 meters (2:28.07), while senior Jack Noble finished in 13th (2:33.66).
Junior Quinn Salmon placed ninth in the 5,000 meters, with a time of 15:39.33. Senior Ben Stone finished in 15th (15:44.77).
In the 3,000 meters, sophomore Jack Larkin placed 10th (8:31.73).
Sophomore Arthur Ribeiro was 15th in the 500 meters, clocking in at 1:06.72.
Sophomores LJ Hines (15th, 13.14m) and Tireni Asenuga (16th, 13.12m) finished back-to-back in the triple jump.

UP NEXT:

Holy Cross rounds out the final day of the IC4A Championships on Sunday, Feb. 8 at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center.
