BOSTON- Junior Joseph Mahon took home the silver medal in the men's 5,000m on Saturday, Feb. 28 at day one of the Patriot League Championships. Mahon finished the event in 14:05.24 to notch his spot on the podium. The Holy Cross men's track and field team finished the day in fifth place out of nine teams with nine total points.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS: 

• Senior Liam Lyons qualified for the men's mile final after posting a time of 4:06.73 in the prelim.
• Junior Tristan Miller finished sixth in the men's 400m prelim with a time of 48.08, qualifying for the final.
• JuniorMichael Laflamme recorded a personal best mark of 16.78 in the weight throw, finishing ninth overall.
• Freshman Jake Baker finished 10th in the weight throw with a mark of 16.52.
• Junior Thomas Speltz, sophomore Joey Ryan, sophomore Lewis O'Connor, and senior Jack Noble finished eighth in the 4x800m with a time of 7:46.62.

UP NEXT: 

• The Crusaders conclude the Patriot League Championships tomorrow, Mar. 1 at Boston University. Competition is set to get underway at 11:00 a.m.
