The Holy Cross men's basketball team hosts Patriot League foe Loyola (Md.) for Senior Day presented by Masis Staffing on Saturday, Feb. 28 at noon on Bob Cousy '50 Court. The contest will stream live on ESPN+ with Kevin Gehl (play-by-play) and Jacob VanRyn (analyst) on the call.
Saturday is Senior Day, Fan Appreciation and Birdies and Basketball presented by Masis Staffing. There will be a pregame ceremony to honor the Crusader seniors and there will be a Crusader golf prize pack given away to one lucky fan.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (10-20, 5-12 PL):
- Holy Cross was downed 78-63 Wednesday evening at Boston University. Junior guard/forward Gabe Warren scored a game-high 13 points with three boards and three assists while sophomore guard Tyler Boston (10 points) and Aiden Disu (10 points) also joined Warren in double-figures.
- Boston was named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday by the conference office for the fifth time this season. Boston averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 assists on 48 percent (12-of-25) shooting from the floor and 45.5 percent shooting from three-point range to help Holy Cross go 1-1 last week.
- The Crusaders can clinch a first round home game (No. 8 seed) in the upcoming 2026 Patriot League Tournament with a win against Loyola (Md.) and losses by Army West Point and Bucknell.
- Holy Cross has 12 or fewer turnovers in 20 of its last 22 games. As a team, the Crusaders rank second in the Patriot League and 53rd in the nation in turnovers per game (10.2).
- Holy Cross is the eighth ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (330th). They rank 309th (101.6) in offensive rating and 321st (117.7) in defensive rating.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS (11-19, 7-10 PL):
- Loyola (Md.) has lost three straight including a 78-51 loss at home to Navy Wednesday evening. Emmett Adair scored 13 points with seven rebounds and a block in the setback.
- As a team, the Greyhounds rank second in the Patriot League and 30th in the nation in three-point attempts per game (28.7).
- Per sports-reference.com, Braeden Speed ranks sixth in the Patriot League in offensive rating (119.0).
- The Greyhounds are the seventh ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (329th). They rank 309th (101.6) in offensive rating and 321st (117.7) in defensive rating.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
- Holy Cross is 17-13 (.567) in the series history against Loyola (Md.) which began back in 1975.
- The Crusaders are 11-3 (.786) against the Greyhounds on Cousy Court.
- In their last meeting on Feb 15, the Greyhounds earned an 83-73 win in Baltimore. Gabe Warren and Aiden Disu scored career-highs in points with 28 and 22 respectively.
