#10 Men’s basketball travels to #2 Lehigh for Patriot League Tournament Quarterfinals

The #10 seed Holy Cross men's basketball team remains on the road to battle #2 seed Lehigh in the 2026 Patriot League Tournament Quarterfinals on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in Stabler Arena. The contest will stream live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT #10 HOLY CROSS (11-21, 5-13 PL): 
  • The Crusaders are coming off an 82-77 upset of #7 Lafayette on Tuesday in Easton, Pa. Four players reached double figures including junior guard/forward Gabe Warren who dropped 23 points with nine rebounds while sophomore guard Tyler Boston had a near triple-double with 17 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds.
  • The 14 assists for Boston were a high in the Patriot League this season and rank tied for 22nd in the NCAA this season. His 14 dimes are also the most during a Patriot League First Round contest. They rank tied for seventh on the program's single-game list. Boston was the first Crusader since Jacob Grandison (10, vs. Stony Brook Nov. 11, 20218) to record 10 or more assists in a game.
  • Holy Cross was a perfect 18-for-18 (100 percent) at the line at Lafayette on Tuesday. It was the second time this season and fourth time in program history that they shot 100 percent at the charity stripe.
  • On Wednesday, Warren became only the second student-athlete in program history and first since 2011 to be named Academic All-Patriot League. Warren paces the team in steals per game (1.2) while ranking second in scoring (12.5) and rebounding (4.5) while completing 40+ hours of community service with Team IMPACT and as a Big Brother for the Bob Cousy Assist Program at the Nativity School of Worcester.
  • Warren was also named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday for the third time this season. He averaged a team-high 21.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists across 34.6 minutes per game last week shooting 51.9% (14-for-27) from the field and 81.3% (13-for-16) from the charity stripe.
  • Holy Cross has 12 or fewer turnovers in 22 of its last 24 games. As a team, the Crusaders rank first in the Patriot League and 42nd in the nation in turnovers per game (10.2).
  • Holy Cross is the eighth ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (330th). They rank 312th (101.3) in offensive rating and 324th (118.0) in defensive rating.
HOLY CROSS IN THE PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT:
  • The Crusaders have won six Patriot League championships which are tied for the second most in Patriot League history with Bucknell. Holy Cross has appeared in the championship game 11 times tied with Colgate for the second most in the league. They are looking for their first Patriot League title since 2016 when they won four straight road games as the #9 seed.
  • Overall, Holy Cross is 37-29 (.560) in the Patriot League Championship tournament, which are the third most wins by any league program. They hold a 15-14 (.517) record during the quarterfinals. The Crusaders are 9-16 (.360) playing on the road in the conference dance.
  • In the history of the Patriot League tournament, the #10 seed has a 0-2 (.000) record against the #2 seed in the quarterfinal round.
  • Holy Cross is 7-0 (1.000) against Lehigh the Patriot League tournament and 0-0 on the road.
SCOUTING THE #2 MOUNTAIN HAWKS (15-16, 11-7 PL): 
  • Lehigh clinched the #2 seed in the conference dance winning three straight including an 89-9 win against Bucknell on Feb. 28. Nasir Whitlock scored a game-high 32 points with seven assists and three boards.
  • Whitlock was named to the Patriot League First Team on Monday by the conference office. He leads the conference in scoring (20.8) and has an NCAA best eight 30+ point games.
  • Hank Alvey was an All-League Second Team honoree pacing the conference with a league-high 1.8 blocks per game. Alvey was also named Academic All-Patriot League on Wednesday.
  • Across two games against the Crusaders in 2025-26, Alvey is leading the team averaging 24.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game on 73.3 percent (22-for-30) shooting.
  • Lehigh has struggled from deep against Holy Cross this season going 9-of-35 (25.7 percent) across two meetings.
  • Lehigh is the fifth ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (295th). They rank 291st (103.1) in offensive rating and 283rd (114.7) in defensive rating.
LEHIGH IN THE PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT:
  • The Mountain Hawks have won three conference championships with their last coming during the 2011-12 season on March 7, 2012 an 82-77 win on the road at Bucknell.
  • Overall, Lehigh is 27-32 (.458) in the league championship tournament and has a 15-7 (.682) mark at home in the PLT.
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • Holy Cross is 46-34 (.575) in the series history against Lehigh which began back in 1976. The Mountain Hawks have won 10 of the last 13 contests dating back to the 2019-20 season.
  • In their last meeting on Feb. 7, Holy Cross picked up a 76-67 win in a packed Bob Cousy '50 Court. Freshman forward Aiden Disu scored 21 points with nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals in the victory.
