WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior
Gabe Warren of the Holy Cross men's basketball team has been named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team as voted on by the league's sports information directors announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
Warren, an economics major and a 2024-25 Patriot League academic honor roll selection has posted a 3.42 cumulative GPA. He becomes only the second student-athlete in program history to earn Academic All-League honors and the first since 2011.
In 2025-26, Warren has started and played in all 33 games for the Crusaders averaging 31.5 minutes per game. He paces the team in steals per game (1.2) while ranking second in scoring (12.5) and rebounding (4.5), shooting 47.9% (136-for-284) from the field, 34.1% (29-of-85) from deep, and 72.5% (100-for-138) at the line.
The guard/forward is having the best season of his collegiate career setting single-season career-highs in points (401), rebounds (143), assists (49), steals (37), three-pointers (29), blocks (9), field goal percentage (47.9), three-point percentage (34.1), free throw conversions (100), three-pointers (29) and minutes per game (31.5). He scored 20+ points six times in 2025-26 with 21 games in double-figures.
A three-time Patriot League weekly honorable mention selection, across 18 Patriot League games Warren ranks 11th in field goal percentage (49.7), 14th in field goals (83), 16th in rebounding (5.1), 17th in scoring (13.6), 18th in minutes per game (32.7) tied for 19th in steals (17), tied for 21st in steals per game (0.9).
Warren was named the Tom Konchalski Classic MVP after leading the Crusaders back from a 16-point second-half deficit at Fordham (Dec. 6) dropping 25 points with eight rebounds, five three-pointers, three steals and two assists. 16 of his 25 points came in the second half. He also became the first Crusader since 2023 to score 30 points in a game when he dropped 30 markers with seven rebounds, two assists and a block going 9-of-10 (90%) at the line at home against Loyola (Md.) on Feb. 28. In the Patriot League First Round win at Lafayette (March 3), Warren dropped a game-high 23 points with a career-high matching nine boards going a perfect 7-for-7 (100 percent) at the stripe.
He has completed 40+ hours of community service with Team IMPACT and as a Big Brother for the Bob Cousy Assist Program at the Nativity School of Worcester.
The Patriot League Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and Academic All-Patriot League team honors student-athletes who excel both on and off the court. The awards are nominated and voted on by the Patriot League men's basketball sports information directors who cannot vote for their own student-athletes. To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
