Women's basketball to host Bucknell on Senior Day

OPENING TIP:
  • The Holy Cross women's basketball team returns home to host Bucknell for 2026 Senior Day at Bob Cousy '50 Court on Saturday, Feb. 21. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.

HOLY CROSS NOTES: 
  • The Crusaders have won three-straight games and seven of their last eight heading into Saturday's game at 17-9 overall and 11-4 in the Patriot League.
  • Holy Cross pulled away late to secure a 53-44 road win over Lafayette on Wednesday night. The Crusaders swept the regular season series with the Leopards and extended their win streak against them to 14 games.
  • Senior guard Kaitlyn Flanagan surpassed 1,000 career points in her Crusader career with a nine-point outing on Wednesday. She now has 1,003 career points.
  • Flanagan becomes the 37th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points. She now stands at 36th all-time after surpassing Brittany Keil '07 (1,000 pts).
  • With 508 career assists, Flanagan is only the third player in program history with 1,000+ points and 500+ assists, joining Alex Smith (2010-2014; 1,644 points, 568 assists) and Anna Kinne (1996-00; 1,234 points, 532 assists).
  • Senior forward Meg Cahalan remains Holy Cross' only scorer averaging double figures at 15.3 points per game following her 20th double-figure scoring effort of the season, tallying 15 against the Leopards. She also added eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
  • Senior guard Simone Foreman was 2-of-4 from deep and finished with eight points, four boards, three assists and three steals in the win.
  • Junior guard Janie Bachmann contributed eight points, four boards, three assists and a block.
  • Senior guard Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly dominated the glass last time out, leading the team with nine rebounds. She also charted a block and made a three-pointer.
THE SENIOR CLASS:
  • Holy Cross' roster includes four seniors, all starters and four-year contributors. Cahalan, Donnelly, Flanagan and Foreman all suit up for their last regular-season home game at the Hart Center Arena this Saturday.
  • The seniors have collectively averaged 38.9 points per game this season.
  • Over their four-year careers, Cahalan (788), Donnelly (488), Flanagan (1,003) and Foreman (864) have combined for 3,148 points. Additionally, they are 81-43 overall and 46-23 in Patriot League play throughout their careers, with two conference tournament titles and NCAA appearances. 
ABOUT BUCKNELL:
  • Bucknell is 10-16 overall and 6-9 in the Patriot League after a 58-45 win over American to snap a two-game losing streak. The Bison are currently sixth in the Patriot League standings.
  • Tuana Coskun is Bucknell's top scorer at 13.5 points per game to go with 3.0 rebounds and a .325 three-point percentage on 38 makes.
  • Bucknell is second in the Patriot League in blocked shots, averaging 3.50 with 91 total rejections. 
  • The Bison have five separate players with double-digit blocks this season. Anna Kunzwiler leads the team with 17 rejections. Remaining players with double-figure blocks from Bucknell include Reese Zemitis (16), Elena Houghton (15), Coskun (12), and Desirae Ashton (12).
THE HC-BUCKNELL SERIES:
  • The Crusaders lead the all-time series against the Bison, 55-26 for a .679 win percentage.
  • Holy Cross has won the past eight meetings, dating back to Dec. 30, 2022.
  • Last time out, the Crusaders picked up a 58-55 victory thanks to key late free throws by Flanagan and Cahalan.
  • Cahalan led the Crusaders with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting and the duo of Flanagan and Foreman added 11 points apiece. 
  • Foreman added 11 boards for her third double-double of the season and 11th of her career.
  • Coskun had a game-high 23 points to pace Bucknell and Isabella Casey tallied 19.
MONTH IN REVIEW:
  • The Crusaders are 7-1 since picking up a road win at American on Jan. 24, 70-58. Holy Cross started that stretch with four consecutive wins and bounced back from the one loss to Lehigh (Feb. 7) with a win at Colgate (Feb. 11).
  • Over that stretch, the Crusaders are outscoring opponents 61.4-52.9 and have dominated the fourth quarter and overtime; outscoring the opposition 168-123.
  • Holy Cross has held its opponents to a 34.2 field-goal percentage, while shooting 42.0% in that stretch.
  • Cahalan (17.0) and Flanagan (10.4) have emerged as the primary scoring options for the Crusaders, while Donnelly has averaged 7.1 points and 8.1 rebounds in the last eight games.
