The Holy Cross women's basketball team is set to host American on Saturday, Jan. 10 with opening tip at the Hart Center Arena slated for 2 p.m. on ESPN+.
Saturday is the Healthcare Heroes game presented by St. Vincent Hospital and all healthcare workers can receive up to two free tickets to the game. Healthcare workers can claim their tickets through the link at the top of the story.
Tickets for Saturday and all remaining regular season home games are available through the Holy Cross ticket office.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (8-6, 2-1 Patriot League):
- The Crusaders dropped a tough 60-57 decision at the hands of Lehigh on Wednesday evening.
- Holy Cross fought back within two in the final minute and had a few looks in the closing seconds, but came up just short.
- Junior Kendall Eddy led the way with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, while seniors Meg Cahalan and Simone Foreman added 12 apiece.
- Eddy has hit four threes in three of her last four games and is shooting 57.1% (12-of-21) from beyond the arc during that stretch.
- As a team, the Crusaders shot a season-best 40.0% (6-of-15) from long range and outrebounded their opponent for an eighth straight game.
- Head coach Candice Green's team leads the conference in defensive rebounding at 27.2 drpg and ranks second in combined team rebounds at 36.4 rpg.
- Senior point guard Kaitlyn Flanagan needs four assists to move into the Top-10 all-time in Patriot League history. Flanagan enters play with 464 career assists, which ranks eighth in program history.
- In 2025-26, the Plymouth Meeting, Pa., native is tied for the league lead in assists (4.0 ap) and sits second in assist/turnover ratio (2.2).
EYES ON THE EAGLES (4-10, 2-1 Patriot League):
- American notched a 59-56 overtime victory versus Colgate on Wednesday and has won two straight entering Saturday's game after dropping 10 of 11 from Nov. 13-Dec. 31.
- Charlotte Tuhy led the Eagles with 17 points and 22 rebounds in the win as her 22 boards are the second-most all-time in a single-game in program history.
- Things were tied at 54 apiece with under two minutes left in overtime when Molly Driscoll sank a jumper, stole the ball on the ensuing possession and Tuhy hit a layup that made it a four-point game in the final minute.
- Madisyn Moore-Nicholson added 16 points of her own in the victory.
- On the season, Driscoll is the team's top scorer at 13.2 ppg and is joined in double figures by Moore-Nicholson (11.4 ppg) and Tuhy (10.3 ppg).
- Tuhy leads the team and Patriot League in rebounding at 10.1 rpg, a total that ranks 25th nationally.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
- Holy Cross swept the season series between the two teams in 2024-25 including a 76-44 victory at American on Jan. 18, 2025. Lindsay Berger led four players in double figures with 22 points, while Flanagan added 13 points, Eddy had 11 and current junior Janie Bachmann had 10 points.
- The Crusaders have won three of the last four meetings and hold a 29-23 advantage in the all-time series.
