The Holy Cross women's basketball team returns home to begin a three-game homestand on Wednesday evening versus Colgate with opening tip at the Hart Center Arena set for 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
Wednesday is the program's Pride Game and it is Catholic Schools Week.
The Crusaders are scheduled to play three home games over the next six days versus Colgate, Army (Jan. 31) and Boston Univ. (Feb. 2) and tickets for all three games are sale through the Holy Cross ticket office.
THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (11-8, 5-3 Patriot League):
- Senior Meg Cahalan converted a three-point play with 5:10 to go and the Crusaders closed the game on a 16-3 run in Saturday's 70-58 victory over American.
- Cahalan's three-point play gave Holy Cross the lead for good and she matched her career-high with 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting. The 11 made field goals were also the most in a single game by a Holy Cross player since Bronagh Power-Cassidy made 11 against Lafayette on Mar. 6, 2024.
- Fellow senior Mary-Elizabeth Donnelly added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists in the victory. Six different players scored seven points or more as part of the balanced attack.
- In the victory, senior Kaitlyn Flanagan tallied eight points and six assists as she surpassed Cheryl Aaron (1982-87) for seventh place in program history with the 486th assist of her career.
- Flanagan leads the Patriot League in assist/turnover ratio at 2.4 and ranks second in assists per game (4.1), while Cahalan is fifth in scoring at 15.1 ppg and senior Simone Foreman sits fifth in rebounding with 8.3 rpg.
- Junior Kendall Eddy ranks second in the Patriot League in steals at 1.9 per game and has tallied multiple steals in seven of her last eight games.
- Holy Cross has held nine of their last 11 opponents to under 60 points dating back to Dec. 7.
READING UP ON THE RAIDERS (5-14, 1-7 Patriot League):
- Colgate dropped a 58-54 decision to Boston University on Saturday as things were tied at 50 apiece with 1:02 to play before the Terriers scored eight of the final 12 points.
- Grace Klag had 14 points in 31 minutes off the bench to lead the way for the Raiders and Ella Meabon added 13 points and five assists.
- The Raiders have dropped seven straight entering play on Wednesday, but have held five of their seven opponents to 60 points or less during that stretch.
- On the season, Meabon is tops on the team in both points (14.5) and assists (2.1). Madison Schiller checks in at 8.6 ppg and is the team's top rebounder with 6.2 rpg.
- Head coach Shannon Bush graduated from Holy Cross in 2006 and won two Patriot League championships as a player in 2003 & 2005. She was also named to the Patriot League All-Rookie Team following the 2002-03 season and served as a team captain during her senior year.
LAST TIME THEY MET:
- The two teams split a pair of meetings during the 2024-25 campaign with each team winning on their home court. Holy Cross notched a 59-55 victory at the Hart Center on Feb. 26, 2025 behind 20 points and eight rebounds from Foreman.
- Dating back to the 2020-21 season, the two sides have split their last 10 meetings. Overall, the Crusaders hold a 62-14 advantage in the all-time series.
