The Holy Cross men's basketball team travels to Patriot League foe Colgate on Wednesday, Jan. 28 for a 7 p.m. tip-off on Cottrell Court. The contest will stream live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (8-13, 3-5 PL): 

• The Crusaders fell to league opponent American 76-67 splitting the season series with the Eagles. Junior guard/forward Joe Nugent dropped a team-high 18 points goi g 6-for-9 (66.7 percent) from deep in the setback.
• Nugent, who ranks fourth all-time in program history with 184 three-pointers, needs eight more to climb into third place (191, Devin Brown – 2008-2012) and 11 more for second place (194, Keith Simmons – 2003-2007) on the program's all-time list. Nugent is 39 threes away from becoming the program's all-time leader (222, Kevin Hamilton – 2002-2006).
• As a team, per KenPom, the Crusaders defense is the top program in the Patriot League and 31st in the nation in free throw rate (28.0 percent).
• Holy Cross Athletics announced on Monday, Dec. 22nd that the court in the Hart Center Arena will be dedicated and named in honor of Crusader and NBA legend Bob Cousy. A formal dedication of the Bob Cousy '50 Court will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 prior to the game against Lehigh on Winter Homecoming Weekend.
• Holy Cross is the ninth ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (330th). They rank 315th (101.0) in offensive rating and 316th (116.7) in defensive rating.

SCOUTING THE RAIDERS (12-9, 6-2 PL): 

• Colgate needed overtime to upend Boston University 80-79 at home last Saturday. Jalen Cox (23 points) and Sam Wright (22 points) led the way for the Raiders.
• Cox was named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday. The two-time Patriot League Player of the Week averaged 22.0 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week for Colgate last week.
• As a team, Colgate paces the Patriot League and ranks 35th in the NCAA in field goal percentage (48.9).
• Colgate, who have won five of the last seven Patriot League Tournament Championships are the second ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (200th). They rank 166th (109.4) in offensive rating and 240th (112.6) in defensive rating.

LAST TIME THEY MET: 

• Holy Cross is 60-42 (.588) in the series history against Colgate which began back in 1947. The Raiders have won 20 straight meetings against the Crusaders.
• In their last meeting on Feb. 26, 2025, the Raiders earned an 81-73 win. Then-sophomore guard/forward Joie Nugent scored 21 points with five threes in the setback.
