The Holy Cross men's basketball team remains away from campus on Wednesday, Jan. 21 to take on Patriot League foe Navy in Alumni Hall at 7 p.m. The contest will stream live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (8-11, 3-3 PL): 

• The Crusaders are coming off a 74-55 setback at Lafayette on Saturday. Sophomore guard Tyler Boston scored a team-high 18 points going 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) from the field while junior guard/forward Joe Nugent dropped 16 points with a team-best four boards and two thefts.
• Boston was named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday by the league office. He averaged 19.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for the Crusaders while shooting 54.2 percent (13-for-24) from the field and 60.0 percent (6-of-10) from three-point range across 32.4 minutes per game. 
• On the season, Nugent ranks third in the Patriot league in free throw percentage (87.2%, 34-for-39). Across six conference games, junior forward Declan Ryan is fourth in the conference in field goal percentage (59.4%, 19-for-32).
• Per sports-reference.com, Nugent is the fourth best offensive player in the Patriot League in offensive rating (124.1).
• Holy Cross Athletics announced on Monday, Dec. 22nd that the court in the Hart Center Arena will be dedicated and named in honor of Crusader and NBA legend Bob Cousy. A formal dedication of the Bob Cousy '50 Court will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 prior to the game against Lehigh on Winter Homecoming Weekend.
• Holy Cross is the eighth ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (322nd). They rank 315th (101.6) in offensive rating and 292nd (116.3) in defensive rating.

SCOUTING THE MIDSHIPMEN (13-6, 5-1 PL): 

• Navy earned a double-overtime 82-79 victory at Lehigh last time out. Austin Benigni played all 50 minutes and scored a game-high 32 points while Aidan Kehoe had a monster double-double with 21 points and 21 rebounds in the victory.
• Benigni was named Patriot League Honorable Mention on Monday after averaging 23.0 points across a pair of games last week. Benigni is eighth in the nation in free throw conversions (115) and 17th in minutes per game (35.5).
• Kehoe ranks second in the NCAA in field goal percentage (71.4%), fourth in rebounds (205), sixth in rebounds per game (10.8), and 15th in double-doubles (9).
• As a team through six conference games, Navy has the best defensive unit in the Patriot League pacing the league in scoring defense (64.0), field goal percentage defense (38.9), three-point percentage defense (26.0), team defensive rebounds per game (29.3) and blocked shots per game (3.5).
• Navy is the second ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (198th). They rank 282nd (104.4) in offensive rating and 110th (107.5) in defensive rating.

LAST TIME THEY MET: 

• Holy Cross is 48-32 (.600) in the series history against Navy which began back in 1947. Navy has won five of the last six meetings.
• Last time out on Jan. 3, the Midshipmen earned an 65-58 win in Worcester. Tyler Boston scored a team-best 16 points with six rebounds, four assists, three three-pointers and two steals in the defeat.
