WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross head cross country coach Stephanie Reilly has announced the team captains for the upcoming 2025 season. Rising seniors Liam Lyons and Abby Granrath will take on the role of leading the Crusaders.
"Liam and Abby both lead by example — showing up, working hard, and pushing the team to be better every day," Reilly said. "Their commitment, consistency, and support make them the kind of captains every team hopes for."
Lyons, an international studies and philosophy double major, was a constant leader for the Crusaders during the 2024 campaign. He competed in all eight meets of the 2024 season and was Holy Cross's top finisher twice. He finished first for Holy Cross with a personal best 5k time of 14:55.12 (10th) at the CCSU Mini Meet. He also crossed the finish first for the Crusaders with an 8k time of 25:07.70 (43rd) at the Patriot League Championship.
Granrath, a psychology major with a minor in American Sign Language and deaf studies, set personal bests in seven of the eight meets of the 2024 season. While donning the Purple & White, she set new PRs in the 3k (10:40.90) at the CCSU Mini Meet, the 5k (19:04.31) at the New England Championship and the 6k (22:51.42) at the NCAA Northeast Regional.
