WORCESTER, Mass. – Joelle Prata has been promoted to associate head coach for the Holy Cross women's lacrosse program, as announced by head coach Amanda Belichick. Prata has been a member of the Crusaders' staff as an assistant coach since 2022, and is heavily involved with all facets of the program, including skill instruction, game preparation and recruiting. She will continue to serve as the team's defensive coordinator and work with the draw specialists, in addition to taking on new responsibilities.

"Joelle has been an integral part of our program's success over the last four years," said Belichick. "We are very fortunate to have her in this new position, and look forward to accomplishing many great things together in the years ahead."

Over the last two years, Prata has helped Holy Cross to two straight winning seasons and two consecutive trips to the Patriot League semifinals. The Crusaders went 10-8 overall and 5-4 in the conference in 2025, after going 12-6 overall and 6-3 in the league in 2024. Holy Cross set school single-season records for points (380) and assists (141) in 2025, after breaking the program single-season mark for goals (241) in 2024.

Prior to joining the Crusaders, Prata spent three seasons as the head women's lacrosse coach at Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tenn., from 2019-2021. She was previously a graduate assistant coach for the Pioneers in 2018.

Prata graduated from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C., in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She went on to receive her master's degree in organizational training and performance management from Tusculum in 2021.
