Cini receives 2025 Trina Mangano Scholarship

WORCESTER, Mass. – Former Holy Cross women's lacrosse player Tori Cini (Class of 2024) has been announced as a recipient of the 2025 Trina Mangano Scholarship, awarded by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Officials Recruitment and Development Committee. Cini and five other recipients were selected for their participation in a College Player Officials Academy event and their demonstrated dedication to pursuing officiating opportunities in the sport.

"Our committee is excited to honor this group for their commitment to the sport through the vessel of officiating." stated Stephanie Allen, Binghamton University head women's lacrosse coach and chair of the Officials Recruitment and Development Committee. "Trina Mangano was instrumental in supporting the growth of the game, and this year's scholarship recipients exemplify that same level of dedication — eager to impact the next generation. We look forward to seeing these newly certified officials out on the field very soon, staying involved and connected to the game they all love."

"It is an honor to receive this distinguished scholarship and be given the opportunity to continue participating in the sport I grew up playing and deeply love," said Cini.

Cini was a two-year starter in goal for the Crusaders, posting a 16-14 career record with 291 saves, a .425 save percentage and a 13.37 goals against average. She went 10-6 with 145 saves during her senior year, with her 10 victories tying for fourth-highest single-season total in program history. Cini posted a career-high 17 saves against UMass in 2024, then matched that mark during the 2024 game with No. 19 Navy. She was also a three-time selection to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Trina Mangano was a nationally and internationally rated official whose impact on the game extended far beyond the field. She played a key role in shaping the next generation of officials through her service on the United States Lacrosse Training Committee, her work as a CWLOA trainer and her position as the officials' assignor for IWLCA recruiting events. Mangano's passion for education and mentorship helped elevate the standard of officiating in women's lacrosse. These scholarships honor her enduring legacy and unwavering commitment to growing the game through the development and support of officials.
