WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Abby Desmarais has been named Patriot League Women's Outdoor Rookie of the Week for competition between Apr. 14 – 20. This is the second week in a row she has received this honor.
Desmarais picked up two wins in the 100m with a personal best time of 11.85, ranked third overall, top of any first year, in the Patriot League. She was also a member of the winning 4x400m relay (3:48.50), ranked second in the league, and she helped the 4x100m relay team to a second-place finish (46.45), ranked second in the conference.
Senior captain Haley Murphy was listed as an honorable mention for her performance over the weekend. Murphy broke the 400m dash school record, placing second with a time of 55.14, ranking her fifth in the Patriot League. She was also a member of the winning 4x400m relay, which is currently ranked second in the league.
The Holy Cross track and field teams will return to action on Apr. 26 for the Ken O'Brien Pre-Conference Meet hosted by UMass Amherst at the UMass Track & Field Complex.
