PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Holy Cross women's rowing team opened its spring schedule on Saturday at the Jesuit Invitational, hosted by St. Joe's on the Schuylkill River. The Crusaders faced Fairfield, Fordham, Loyola, and St. Joe's in the regatta.
 
RESULTS:

• The varsity eight placed second in the 'A' final, finishing just two seconds behind first-place St. Joe's.
• The second varsity eight won the 'A' final with a time of 7:56.3.
• The varsity four finished second in the 'A' final, just behind St. Joe's.
• The second varsity four won the 'A' final, finishing with a time of 8:19.5.

FROM HEAD COACH ANDREA LANDRY:

• "Thank you to St Joes for hosting. It was important for our crews to go into our first race of the season with the goal of staying in control. All four crews stayed focused on the task at hand and handled the changing head wind gracefully, yielding two first places and two second across five teams. Our depth was on full display and we look forward to unlocking more gears with more water time this week." 

WHAT'S NEXT:

• Holy Cross will face UConn, Marist, and Sacred Heart for their second regatta of the spring on Saturday, March 29 in Coventry, Conn.
