Women’s basketball visits Colgate on Wednesday evening

The Holy Cross women's basketball team hits the road for a mid-week Patriot League bout with Colgate on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. on Cotterell Court. The contest will stream live on ESPN+.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (15-7, 8-3 PL): 
  • Holy Cross picked up a 60-47 win last time out on Saturday against Boston University. Senior forward Lindsay Berger scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and recorded a career-high four blocks in the victory.
  • Junior forward Meg Cahalan was named Patriot League honorable mention on Monday afternoon following her performance against BU. Cahalan scored a career-high 25 points on 69.2% (9-of-13) shooting with a personal-best five three points to go with five rebounds, a block, a steal and an assist. She earned the Rev. George L. O'Brien Award given by the Holy Cross Club of Greater Worcester to the Winter Homecoming game MVP.
  • For the fourth time this season, junior guard Kaitlyn Flanagan posted a game with zero turnovers. It was the 13th time in her career she's not turned the ball over during a game and the Crusaders are 13-0 (1.000) in those contests. Flanagan leads the Patriot League in assists per game (5.2), assists (114), and assist-to-turnover ratio (2.2). She has 362 career assists (4.1 A/G) and needs 59 more to break into the program's top-10 career list (10th Maggie Fontana, 2001-05, 420.)
  • Over the last seven games (5-2, .714) the Crusaders are holding opponents 45.6 points per game on 33.0 percent (116-of-351) shooting, 24.6 percent (29-of-118) from three-point land, and have a +12.9 scoring margin.
  • The Crusaders have only had their shot blocked 37 times this season which ranks tied for fourth fewest in the NCAA (Hawaii).
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS (17-7, 7-4 PL): 
  • Colgate is 3-2 (.600) over their last five games after picking up a 74-59 win at Loyola (Md.) Sunday afternoon. Taylor Golembiewski scored a team-high 18 points with five boards, three assists and two steals in the win.
  • Golembiewski was named Preseason All-Patriot League. She ranks third in the league in field goal percentage (44.4), seventh in scoring (13.0), and 10th in steals per game (1.4).
  • In the Preseason Poll, the Raiders were slated for a second place finish with 120 points and earned the second most first-place votes (5).
  • Anne Bair ranks second in the conference in assists (90), is tied for second in assists per game (3.8) and is fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6).
  • As a team, Colgate is careful with the basketball as they rank 13th in the NCAA in turnovers per game (12.2). They also rank 25th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2).   
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • The Crusaders are 61-13 (.824) in the series history against the Raiders which began in 1991. Holy Cross is 28-7 (.800) on the road against Colgate.
  • In their last meeting on Feb. 28, 2024, Colgate earned an 86-79 win at home in Hamilton. Then-sophomore Kaitlyn Flanagan scored 10 points and handed out five assists in the setback.
