Men’s basketball hits the road to face Fordham

The Holy Cross men's basketball team is back in action for a nonconference tilt against Fordham during the Tom Konchalski Classic Saturday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. in Rose Hill Gym. The contest will stream live on ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch (play-by-play) and Andrew Posadas (analyst) on the call.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (3-6, 0-0 PL): 
  • The Crusaders are coming off a dominant 76-59 victory on Wednesday versus Northeastern. Sophomore guard Tyler Boston scored a game-high 18 points with four assists, four rebounds and two steals. Junior guard/forward Gabe Warren dropped 12 markers while freshman forward Aiden Disu produced 10 points as Holy Cross shot 53.6 percent (30-for-56) from the field.
  • Junior guard/forward Joe Nugent moved to fifth place on the program's all-time three-point list in the win over Northeastern going 2-for-4 (50 percent) from downtown. Nugent has 160 career three-pointers and needs 14 more to climb to fourth place on the all-time list (173, Andrew Beinert (2007-11) and 63 to become the program's all-time leader.
  • Tyler Boston ranks second in the Patriot League in free throw percentage (88.4 percent), tied for seventh in scoring (14.2), seventh in assists per game (3.4), tied for seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.4) and 10th in minutes per game (30.9).
  • Holy Cross is the most disciplined team in the Patriot League fouling opponents an average of 15.0 times per game which the fewest in the conference and 28th fewest in the NCAA. The Crusaders rank third in the conference in three-point percentage defense (30.4 percent).
  • Following the win over Northeastern, Holy Cross moved to 313 in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings. They rank 280th (101.6) in offensive rating and 316th (113.9) in defensive rating.
SCOUTING THE RAMS (6-3, 0-0 A10): 
  • Fordham suffered a 72-62 setback to Patriot League opponent Colgate on Sunday, Nov. 30. Christian Henry scored 11 points with eight assists and five rebounds in the loss.
  • Henry paces the Atlantic 10 Conference with 5.6 assists per game and is tied for third in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.5).
  • As a team, Fordham ranks 17th in the NCAA in scoring defense (63.7) which leads the A10.
  • Over the past four years, Fordham is 29-14 (.674) in Rose Hill Gym.
  • Fordham ranks 219th in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings ranking 228th (104.5) in offensive rating and 216th (109.7) in defensive rating. They have faced one of the easiest nonconference schedules in the NCAA via KenPom ranking 361 of 365.
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • Holy Cross is 39-42 (.481) in the series history against Fordham which began back in 1908.
  • In their last meeting on Nov. 21 2022, the Rams earned a 67-53 victory. Gerrale Gates notched a 10 point and 11 rebound double-double in the setback.
  • The Crusaders have not beat the Rams since Dec. 4, 2005 beating Fordham 71-63 in double overtime.
