Men’s basketball puts four game win streak on the line versus Dartmouth

The Holy Cross men's basketball team plays their final nonconference home game on Tuesday, Dec. 16 versus Dartmouth at 6 p.m. in the Hart Center Arena. The contest will stream live on ESPN+ with Kevin Gehl (play-by-play) and Jacob VanRyn (analyst) on the call.

The contest is the Holiday Spirit Game which will feature holiday themed graphics, food items and decorations! 

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (5-6, 0-0 PL): 
  • The Crusaders won their fourth straight game upending Regis (Mass.) 69-47 on Dec. 9. Junior guard/forward Gabe Warren scored a game-high 16 points with six boards shooting 60 percent from the field. Junior forward Will Aljancic dropped 14 markers in 15 minutes off the bench.
  • Before the win against Regis, Holy Cross railed from a 16 point second half deficit to earn a 70-69 win over Fordham on Dec. 6. The Crusaders were down by 12 with under five minutes to play and went on a game clinching 15-2 run. Warren was named the Tom Konchalski Classic MVP scoring 16 of his career-high 25 points in the second half. He came down with a career-best eight boards and canned a personal-best six threes in the game.
  • During the Crusaders' four game winning streak, they hold the edge in rebound margin (+4.8) and scoring margin (+16).
  • Holy Cross is one of the most disciplined teams in the nation (16th) and the top in the Patriot League in fouls per game (14.6). As a team, the Crusaders rank second in the conference in three-point percentage defense (29.2).
  • Over his last three games, Warren is averaging 17.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game on 50 percent (17-of-34) shooting going 53.8 percent (7-of-13) from deep.
  • Holy Cross is the fourth ranked Patriot League team in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (293rd). They rank 259th (103.1) in offensive rating and 306th (113.8) in defensive rating.
SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN (4-5, 0-0 Ivy): 
  • Dartmouth is coming off a 77-64 win at home against Boston University on Saturday. Kareem Thomas dropped a game-high 22 points going a perfect 5-of-5 from deep in the win.
  • The Big Green were selected to finish fifth in the 2025-26 Ivy League Men's Basketball Preseason Poll.
  • Brandon Michell-Day is the top rebounder in the Ivy League at 8.3 rebounds per game. His 6.7 defensive rebound per game mark is 21st in all of Division I.
  • Like the Crusaders, Dartmouth is extremely disciplined as they rank 18th in the country in fouls per game (14.7).
  • Dartmouth ranks seventh out of eight Ivy League teams in the 2026 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings (255th). They are 239th in offensive rating (104.1) and 253rd (111.5) in defensive rating.
LAST TIME THEY MET: 
  • Holy Cross is 68-31 (.687) in the series history against Dartmouth which began back in 1901. The Crusaders are 13-3 (.813) in the Hart Center Arena against the Big Green.
  • Holy Cross has won five straight meetings against Dartmouth with the Big Green's last win coming on Nov. 27, 2001.
  • In their last meeting on Dec. 8, 2012, the Crusaders earned a 67-56 win at home in the Hart Center Arena.
