WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior
Jack Greiner both two school records, as the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving squad competed in day three of the Harold Anderson Invitational at the Tootell Aquatic Center. Through 14 events, the Crusaders stand in first place as a team with 622 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Greiner won the 400-yard individual medley with a school record and meet record time of 3:53.33.
• Greiner also broke the school record in the 100-yard backstroke (50-23) on the leadoff leg of the 400-yard medley relay.
• In the 400-yard medley relay, Greiner teamed with senior
Zach Bubonovich, freshman
Andrew Villani and sophomore
Peter Mottolese for a first-place finish (3:20.56).
• Mottolese also won the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.81), while junior
Luke Parada added a first-place finish in the three-meter diving (336.70).
• Crusaders recording personal best times included Bubonovich (100-yard breaststroke / 55.08 in prelims), freshman
Cole Abril (200-yard freestyle / 1:44.49), junior
Will Clark (100-yard backstroke / 51.75), junior
Austin Cutcher (400-yard individual medley / 4:06.17), junior
Sullivan Labno (400-yard individual medley / 4:11.18), junior
Alex McMillan (200-yard freestyle / 1:45.54 in prelims), freshman
Ethan Steichen (100-yard backstroke / 51.06 relay lead off), junior
Jake Thompson (100-yard backstroke / 51.30) and senior
Chris Villani (100-yard butterfly / 50.97).
UP NEXT:
• Holy Cross will conclude competition in the Harold Anderson Invitational on Sunday, Nov. 23.
• Sunday's event include the 200-yard butterfly, the 100-yard freestyle, the 200-yard breaststroke, the 200-yard backstroke, the 1,650-yard freestyle and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
