WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior defender
Megan Schienbein earned a spot on the Junior Women's National Team for the 2025 FIH Hockey Women's Junior World Cup, as announced by Field Hockey Canada on Thursday.
Schienbein, a native of North Vancouver, British Columbia, will travel to Santiago, Chile for the World Cup, taking place December 1 - 13. The field, which features 24 under-21 teams, are split into six pools for the qualifying rounds, with Canada in Pool E with Australia, Spain, and Scotland.
A member of the Junior Women's National Team program, Schienbein made her international debut representing Canada in a 2022 test series against the U.S. Before Holy Cross, Schienbein played for West Vancouver Field Hockey Club and Team BC, where she won two National Championships. She has been part of Field Hockey Canada's NextGen program since 2019. Over the summer, Schienbein was one of 25 u21 athletes to be named to the Team Canada Junior National Training Squad.
