The Holy Cross women's basketball team is back in the friendly confines of the Hart Center Arena as they host ACC and nonconference opponent Boston College Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. for a Cousy Cup contest. The showdown will be streamed live on ESPN+.
Fans are encouraged to wear white as the 2024 Patriot League Champions will be honored throughout the game. The first 200 fans to enter the Hart Center will receive a replica championship ring. Tickets are on sale through the
Holy Cross Ticket Office for just $5 until Friday at 11:59 p.m.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT HOLY CROSS (3-2, 0-0 PL):
- The Crusaders got back into the win column following a 75-70 victory at Massachusetts on Wednesday. Five players reached double figures in the contest including junior Meg Cahalan who scored a career-high 23 points with a personal-best four triples.
- Junior guard Kaitlyn Flanagan paces the Patriot League and ranks 21st in the nation in assists (28) and is 33rd in the country in assists per game (5.6).
- Holy Cross has recorded a 14-4 (.778) record against other Massachusetts Division I basketball programs since the 2022-23 season. Two of those losses have come against Boston College.
- Over the last three seasons, Holy Cross is 38-11 (.776) at home in the Hart Center Arena compared to29-23 (.558) on the road.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES (5-1, 0-0 ACC):
- Boston College is off to a 5-1 start following an 80-45 win at home against New Hampshire on Wednesday. Dontavia Waggoner dropped a game-high 16 points shooting 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the field with four boards and three steals.
- The Eagles were slated to finish 15th out of 18 teams in the 2024-25 ACC Preseason Poll. Andrea Daley was one of 20 players named to the Cheryl Miller Award Watch List and Kennedi Jackson was one of 20 players selected to the Lisa Leslie Award Watch List.
- Kaylah Ivey is the NCAA Division I leader in assists (51) and she ranks second in the nation in assists per game (8.5) both are tops in the ACC.
- As a team BC is 16th in the NCAA in turnover margin (10.8), 17th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.5), 23rd in assists per game (18.7), and 25th in turnovers per game (12.7).
LAST TIME THEY MET:
- Holy Cross is 10-33 (.233) in the series against Boston College which began in 1978. The Crusaders are 7-12 (.368) against the Eagles at home in the Hart Center. The last time the Eagles came to Worcester was Nov. 13, 2019, when the Crusaders picked up an 80-71 win.
- In their last meeting on Nov. 6, 2023, the Eagles earned a comeback 66-61 win in Conte Forum. Simone Foreman double-doubled for the Crusaders with 10 points and 11 rebounds while Andrea Daley dropped 23 points with eight boards and three steals.
